Last Minute SOLAH

RECTIFY OUR MISTAKES FROM THIS.

He remembered his grandmother' s warning about praying on time:

'My son, you shouldn't leave prayer to this late time'.
His grandmother' s age was 70 but, whenever she heard the Adhan,
she got up like an arrow and performed the Solat.

He, however could never win over his ego to get up and pray.
Whatever he did, his Solat was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it in on time.
Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha'.
He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib.

While making Tasbih,

He again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed. His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace.
He began making Dua and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while.
He had been at work all day and was tired, very tired.
He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting.
He was sweating profusely.
He looked around. It was very crowded.

Every direction he looked in was filled with people.
Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting.
Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was. His heart was about to burst.

It was the Day of Judgment
When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment,
but that seemed so long ago.
Could this be something his mind made up?
No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this.
The interrogation was still going on.
He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called.
No one could answer him.
All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him.
Two angels grabbed his arms and led him forward. He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd. The angels brought him to the centre and left him there.
His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie.
He opened his eyes but saw only another world.
The people were all helping others.
He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam.
His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.
He pleaded his case, 'I too was always on this path. I helped others. I spread the word of Allah. I performed my Salah. I fasted in the month of Ramadhan.'
'Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did.'
'Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not.'
He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah.
He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over.
His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision. At last, the decision was made.
The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd.
His legs felt like they were going to collapse. He closed his eyes as they began
To read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam.
His name was read first.
He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn't be,
'How could I go to Jahannam?
I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah
to others.'
His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat.
The two angels took him by the arms.
As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward
the blazing flames of Jahannam.
He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him.
He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qur'an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him.
The Jahannam angels continued to drag him.
They had gotten closer to the Hellfire.
He looked back and these were his last pleas.

Had not Rasulullah [PBUH] said,
'How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins?'

He began yelling, 'My prayers? My prayers? My prayers?'
The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam.
The flames of the fire were burning his face.
He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him.
One of the angels pushed him in.
He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames.
He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.
He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard.

He wiped some dust off himself and asked him, 'Who are you?'
The old man replied, 'I am your prayers.'
'Why are you so late?! I was almost in the Fire!
You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in.'
The old man smiled and shook his head,
'You always performed me at the last minute, did you forget?'

At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah.
He was in a sweat.
He listened to the voices coming from outside.
He heard the Adhan for Salat-ul Isha.
He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu.
Pass this on to your friends and family......
Maybe, you can help someone open their eyes.
And who knows?

Maybe, this is a good deed that can help you during The Day of Judgment. INSHA-ALLAH

Count Your Blessings

When morning comes,
remember that the sun is shining upon thousands of miserable people,
but you are blessed,
It is shining on hundreds of hungry people,
but you have plenty to eat,
It shines on thousands of people who are imprisoned,
but you are free,
It shines on thousands of people who have been stricken with calamity and lost their family and home,
but you happy and healthy.
How many tears flow down people cheeks,
How many people hearts are filled with pain,
How many screams come from people throats, but you are smiling and happy.

So praise Allah, for His kindness, protection and generosity.
Sit and think, and be honest with yourself, look at the numbers and statistics.
How many things do you own,
How much wealth do you possess,
How many blessings do you enjoy,
How many things do you have that bring you delight?
Beauty, wealth, children, parents, shade, a home, a country, light, air, water, nourishment, medicine?

Count the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you.
Rejoice and be of good cheer.

Good Deeds Actually Remove Evil Deeds

A righteous man was once asked to tell the story of the pivotal moment of his life, the moment in which he first began to apply the teachings of Islam, and the following was his answer,

When I was a young man, I would not hesitate to perpetrate any sin that was made available to me.
Then, one day, I saw a young women who was perhaps the most beautiful woman that I had ever seen.Much tempted by her, I indicated to her that I wanted her to approach me.She seemed nervous, but I thought that she would probably agree to satisfy my sexual desires for money. She approached me with what seemed to be a great deal of trepidation, and when she actually stood before me, she looked extremely terrified. Feeling sorry for her,

I said, " Do not fear, for I will not harm you."

But my words did not lessen her terrible fright in the least, in fact, her situation worsened, she began to tremble like a palm tree leaf trembles with the wind.

I said, " Tell me your story."

She said, "By Allah, O my brother, never before this day have I offered my body in this way. Dire need is what had driven me to this, for I have three daughters who have not eaten a single morsel of food for three days now. It was pity for them that brought me to this low point in my life."

Something then happened to me that had never happened to me before : I felt sorry for another human being. After she told me where she lived, I took a great deal of money, clothing, and food to her house. When I returned to my house, I told my mother what had happened. My mother knew that I had a book in which I would record all of my evil exploits, and so

she said to me, " My son, you are a man who has never performed a good deed except for the good deed that you performed today. I know that you have a book in which you record your evil exploits, go now and write in it your good deed."

I stood up, went to my book, opened it, and found that all of its page were blank, except for the first page on which was written a single line. These were the words that I saw before me on that line :

"Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins)."
Quran (11:114)

At that very moment,I raised my hands to the sky and said,"By Your Might and Majesty, never again will I disobey You."

Let Us Hasten To Repent

Death may come upon us at any time,

and it is our last deed that counts most.

Put together, these two realities make it clear that we must continually repent for our sins and that it is utter foolishness to put off repentance for another day.

In relation to this point, there is an interesting story related about two brother.
One of them, who lived on the top floor of a house they shared together,
was a pious worshiper, the other , who lived on the ground floor,
was a prolific doer of evil deeds.
The former was confident in fact, a little too confident and self-complacent for his own good.
He actually desired that the devil should try to tempt him, so that he could resist temptation and soar to higher levels of righteousness.

One day, the devil did appear before him, perhaps in the form of man (it is not mentioned in the narration). The devil said, " So very sad that you have spent 40 years inhibiting the satisfaction of your desires and tiring your body in worship. You have 40 more years left to  live, you know, why don't you enjoy yourself and follow your lusts for a while. Then you can always repent and return to worship later on. After all, Allah is Most -Forgiving, Most Merciful".

The worshiper thought to himself, " I will go down to my brother on the first floor, and I will join him in the pursuit of pleasure for 20 years. Then, in the last 20 years of my  life, I will repent to Allah and worship Him".He then began to descend the stairs to the first floor.

Meanwhile, his brother was going through a transformation of his own. He thought to himself, " I wasted away my entire life in sin. My brother, the worshiper, will enter Paradise, while I will enter the Hell-fire. By Allah, I will indeed repent, go up to my brother , and join him, for as long as I live, in the worship of Allah. Perhaps, Allah will then forgive me".

He ascended the stairs, with the intention of repenting to Allah, while his brother was descending with the intention of leading a life of sin. The latter slipped on one of the stairs, tumbled down, and knocked down his brother. Both of them died.

I mentioned it earlier, and I'll mention it here again, It is of course,
the last deed that counts most.

The Lingering Pain Of Sinning

To be sure,
every single one of us is a sinner.
But what distinguishes some from others is that some people feel no remorse for past sins, while others feel a great deal of remorse.
The latter group repents and continually strives to improve,
while the former group sits back self-complacently,
going through the motions of life without appreciating the significance of their actions.
An example of such a person is the noble Companion,Sa'id bin Amir.
During the caliphate of Umar bin Al-Khattab, Sa'id bin Amar was the governor of Hims, a city in Ashsham.
When Umar visited hims to see how things were going there, he was met by a large group of people who began to complain to him about Sa'id.
Basically, they found fault with Sa'id in 4 matters.

First, they said,he would not come out to them until mid-morning.
Second, he would refuse to answer any caller during the night.
Third, once a month, he would stay away from the people.
Fourth, every once in a while, Sa'id would faint and lose consciousness for no apparent reason.

The leader of the believers asked Sa'id to respond to their complaints.
In regard to the first complaint, Sa'id explained that he had no servant and that, every morning, he had to crush his own wheat in order to make a bread. As soon as he would finish making his bread,he said,he would then go out to serve the people.
As for not answering any callers during the night, he said that he dedicated his days to serving the people, and his nights to worshiping Allah.

As for not going out to the people once a month, he explained that he had only one garment and that he washed it once a month and had to then wait until it dried.

As for passing out every so often, Sa'id gave this explanation,
"When I was a polytheist, I witnessed the brutal execution of Habib Al-Ansari in Makkah. I saw how the Quraish cut up his flesh (little by little).
They said (to Habib),
"Do you testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God?" "Yes," Habib replied. "I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God."
Musaylamah was visibly angry. "And do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?" He was almost insisting, rather than questioning. "My ears have been blocked against hearing what you claim," replied Habib.

Every time I remember that day and how I refrained from helping Habib - for I was a polytheist and did not believe in Allah, the All-Might- I begin to think that Allah Azza Wa Jall will never forgive me. It is then I (faint) , O leader of the Believers.

For a sincere person, sin is painful, its pain lingers in his heart for many years, very often until the day he/she dies.

Kembara Hidayat

It may be long and it may be tiring to stay on the track as a good Muslims, I always remind myself,

"if the end destination is definite,It’s super worth it to keep struggling!"

When I attach to the impossible, it's hard to stay hopeful. This is how do I keep myself to stay strong in this "kembara hidayat", I will search a quotes about Islam, listen to Islamic song, read Islamic blog/page in face-book such as : yasmin mogahed, prof.dr.muhaya, zon kuliah, hamasah as-syabab, aku bukan superman, angel pakai gucci, tarbiyah sentap & etc, stay positive, optimist, and don't forget to Ask Him (Allah S.W.T).When problems are so big and our strength is no longer enough to carry them, don't give up! because, where our strength ends, the Grace of ALLAH begins.

"Some flowers grow best in the sun, others do well in the shade. Allah always knows what is best for us, so He puts us where we grow the best."

Lari lah. Tetapi lari lah dgn ucapan istighfar di bibirmu.
" أستغفر الله "

When all things went dark and you search for a light to see things clearly that light is HIDAYAT
you don't wait for it,you search for it.

"Verily, We showed him the way (hidayat), whether he be grateful (syukur) or ungrateful (kufur). "
(Al - Insan 76.03).

Thus we have no excuses to say a word that Allah has not give me hidayat so im still waiting.

I thank Allah

photo credit to : hazirah hamzah

I thank Allah,

For letting some people into my life that they have taught me some valuable lessons,
It's so true that every person we meet is either a blessing or a lesson.
I could count with my fingers the number of persons who are really a blessing in my life.

Have you heard people saying that life is a journey?
Sometimes life is like the journey you have when walking along a street...
All the human beings in your life are the passers by.
The only one who always walks by your side is He who created us.
We shall never forget that simple fact for He is immortal and we..
the souls that death can touch, eventually will return to Him.

photo credit to : azri azhar

I thank Allah,

For telling me things through people
People taught me that seeking happiness from people is exhausting except from Allah,
People don't intend to understand & listen except Allah,
Love is a give and take relationship except the love of Allah,
Friends are judgmental expect those who befriend you for the sake of Allah,
Words are just words till you act,
Expect disappointments from people but not Allah for each time Allah doesn't grant your prayers,
He is planning for something better & relying upon Allah alone means putting your life in Good Hands.

There are more..
But I'm grateful for some of the truths He has showed me through people for all the bittersweet facts are the ones that make me grow.

In memory

10 Dzul-Hijjah 1433 AH, the day that really test my family's sacrifice.
Hopefully this strengthen our ukhuwah for the sake of Allah.
May the experience bring us closer to Allah.
Rabbuna Yusahhil.Ameen.

Umat ibn Al Khattab (Radhi Allahu anhu) says :

"If Allah S.W.T  strikes me with a calamity,I will thanks Allah for four things:

-That test was not in my deen,
-The calamity could have been worse,
-Its an expiation for my sins,
- Any loss after loosing the messenger of Allah (Sallal lahu allehi wa sallam) is nothing."

So,

Whatever issues from Allah is by definition Beautiful even if we cannot see the that Beauty,
when Allah test our faith with affliction.

Allah knows

When I was in Cork, I was asked in an usrah I attend on how does my studies relates me to Allah. I was really surprised by the question since most of the people in that usrah were medical students who’d always have close relation to Allah in whatever they do.

But as for me, I never really ask that question until someone brought it up, although at first I was clueless of what to answer – the answer I made up on the spot left myself wondering later on of what I am doing.
Does it make me closer to Allah or does it bring me away from Allah? And if it did – how? If it doesn’t – does this means I forget Allah?
Well, my answer that time was that since I always with my video camera which I like to shoot peoples image to get a story, one of the things that will remind me of Allah is the video camera itself.
The camera be it a camera or the video camera works like our eyes, they have their own optic, retina, lenses and several part of the eyes which was applied during the invention of video camera. But the question is not the function of camera like the eyes but the fact that no matter how highly advanced the inventions made by us humans will never match the High Al Mighty’s creation.
Even up till now, we can never find any camera which can capture 180 degree view without ‘panning’ (the term when you shoot from 180 degree angle of an object we shoot) not even the stereoscopic view where humans see their vision or the visions that only animals do.
Because from my own personal experience, to only get a 5 minute documentary, I had to take at least 3 angles of the same view, a medium shot, close up and extreme close up for a more dramatic impact. If it were a short story I’d have to repeat the same action and repeat again if the action does not meet the director’s satisfaction.
Not only that, we’d have to take account on the lights whereby if we don’t get enough day light, we’d use the camera lights to give more lights to the subject. The lights itself would need at least 3 lights, with a ‘3 point lighting’ (position of lights) technique so that there wont have any shadows effecting the object we are recording.
That doesn’t include the make up and other factors that we have to take into account before we shoot anything. And only after a few days of editing process to add some sounds, voice over etc that we be able to view the video all in 5 minutes but actually 5 day to get a 5 minute video. All of the things mentioned will need to be used to get the ‘perfect’ visual but none of these were needed when we use our eyes – the most perfect creation by Allah.

Therefore, in whatever things we do, sometimes we may not be able to explain how our work does relate to Allah or even Islam itself.
But as long as our intention is ‘fissabilillah’ – for the cause of Allah, and that the work is not against the shari’ah (Islamic Law), it doesn’t matter because every action we do will be taken account by Allah.
After all, Allah knows...

[A reminder to myself first and Foremost, in'sha'Allah]

Overcoming tests

By virtue of being created as human beings , we will tested . We will be thrown into countless trials, into situations that may arise unpleasant and awkward, and into times of difficulty when it seems as though there is little reason to hope.

Allah, Glory be to Him, says in the Quran:
"Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, 'We believe,' and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those
who are true from those who are false"

(Quran, 29: 2-3).

Test will come at us from every direction, events will test the very core of our character and the strength of our beliefs. And these are the tests we cannot afford to fail. And Allah , Glory be to Him, has not left us empty-handed. Building our knowledge and our characters as Muslims is the only way

A "beautiful word" in this verse refers to the Islamic statement of belief :

la illaha ill Allah (there is no being worthy of worship except Allah). And the verse goes on to refer to a beautiful tree, which illustrates the character of a believer.

According to this verse, a believer is one whose Iman, or faith, is unwavering and firmly established. He or she cannot be swayed from the straight path by the winds of trials, no matter how fierce the storm. Knowing and believing that there is no being worthy of worship except Allah, Glory be to Him, and following His commandments provides a believer with the stability and confidence he or she needs to succeed.

A believer's branches also "tower in the sky" like that of the beautiful tree. By this analogy, a believer's Iman cannot remain hidden. A Muslim cannot claim to have Iman solely in the heart while not having it show in his or her actions.Deeds not words!!

Contrary to that, Iman is something so significant that by its nature, it must be seen by anyone who looks at or interacts with a Muslim. Your Iman raises you up to a higher moral level, just as the braches of the beautiful tree reach upwards towards to the sky.

These verses also mention that this tree that is compared with a true believer "gives its fruits at all times by the permission of its Lord". The tree of Iman is ever fruitful, unlike a real tree that only gives fruits at certain times of the year.

Your faith and your belief in la illaha ill Allah sustains you night and day, in every season, during times of ease and times of great hardship. This is the parable of the believer whose good deeds never take a vacation – they are continuous throughout the day and the night.

The chapter goes on to say :
"And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth having no stability" (Quran 14: 26).

An "evil world'" in this verse refers to disbelief.

Allah tells us that we will be tested. He also makes it clear to us what is expected from us when we undergo these trials and what our reward will be if we are successful.

He says: “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives and the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who, when misfortune strikes them, say: ‘Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him is our return. Those are the ones upon whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord and it is those who are rightly guided.”
 [Surah al-Baqarah: 155]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"When Allah desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships".
[ Sahih al-Bukhari]

Such a person will not worry over possible future problems, nor will he grieve over past difficulties, for he is busy with the One he loves. This is true happiness and anyone who misses out on it will never know the meaning of contentment.

So know that Allah is testing us because

he wants good for us and he wants to see if we are going to come closer to him or
more further away from him.

Shaythan is wanting us to weaken and fail the tests from Allah so will we let shaythan win? Or will we make the best of these opportunities and get closer to Allah than we have EVER been?

For if we are patient then Allah is with us so NOTHING can hurt or effect us!

Allah mentions in the Qur'an:

“Indeed Allah is with those who are patient.”

If one is patient, and is among the ones described in the following manner in the Qur’an (Baqarah, 2: 256)

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihee Raaji'oon

“To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return”:-

The Reward for Patience is Paradise

So tests and calamitys are a blessing in disguise and Allah wanting us to get closer to him so if we bare with in with Patience hoping for reward then Allah is with us and best of all we will get closer to Allah and feel true contentment and happiness in the heart and we will attain Paradise inshallah!

Vakum Diri Kotor

Allahu Allah.

Firman Allah dalam surah Al-Baqarah ayat 44

Patutkah kamu menyuruh manusia supaya berbuat kebaikan sedang kamu lupa akan diri kamu sendiri, padahal kamu semua membaca kitab Allah, tidakkah kamu berakal ‘ (Al-Baqarah : 44)

Kaki melangkah, tangan berarak,

Menempa hidup penuh sia,

Mata memandang, kelopak dipejam,

Lupa akan ajal ada,

Tanpa disangka dipanggil tiba,

Telinga mendengar, deria merasa,

Meracun fikiran tanpa makna,

Akal meneka, hati bercinta,

Syurga Cinta impian sukma,

Lidah berkata, bibir berbicara,

Lidah yang sama, Bibir yang sama,

Mengucap Syahadah mencipta Dusta

Mencampak pahala entah kemana,

Nanti timbang berat padahnya,

Neraka Jahanam membakar selamanya
